To the victor go the spoils.
And substantially higher blood sugar.
And higher weight.
Send help.
In all honesty, I’ll probably take the candy to my evening finance classes to give out to everyone. I’m sure that’ll be a welcome treat during a 3.5 hour lecture.

Unbelievable. And sad. I guess leave the porch light off next year. Keep a stash of your favorites before you give the rest away. You’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t and need a chocolate fix later.

we are hiding from the candy monsters this year at a brewery...

Funny enough, I literally don’t eat chocolate outside of Halloween.
And when the day comes around, what you see on my laptop is half of my total consumption.

I'd house all 3 bags with no regrets. Nom nom nom

If I didn’t have work to do right now, I would’ve downed both of those with some nachos or something.

We had very few this year. Didn’t get the carloads of kids from the apartment complexes like usual. Lots of candy left over.

Honestly that’s a good thing.

We usually run out or get close. It was relatively nice outside too.
I’m very confused. I didn’t see a single trick or treater outside.

Nobody around here gets trick or treaters anymore. All the parents get together in parking lots on Main Street and do trunk or treat. Lame.

My first Halloween in my house and first ever giving out cand y as a taller older kid. Bought what I guess is 150 mixed pieces and have like 10 left. So maybe 100 kids with some rain and tons of wind. I live on a big corner in a average residential neighborhood so I’d bet this is average or even light.

We have plenty of kids and teens here, but I guess they all went to the really nice neighborhoods to trick or treat.
It’s the thought that counts on my end, I guess.

Same here... idk if its the kids or the parents, but something has gone wrong.

It’s my second year in a row of zero kids at this house. In the ~5 years since I left apartments , I’ve got a grand total of less than half a dozen. Starting to conclude that kids don’t trick or treat anymore. Then I hear half of you guys having 100 plus kids and I realize I m ust just be unlucky. It honestly makes me so sad, I so want to have a busy Halloween someday!

That’s almost the lamest Halloween thing ever. Do they at least do it on Halloween? I saw signs for a parking lot trick or treat that was 4-6pm on Saturday, which is for sure lamer if yours happens on the actual day

My neighborhood used to be busy with trick or treaters back when I did it myself, whether with friends, family, or both. What a shame.

I’m so irritated. I bought enough candy this year for a normal Halloween. Then I didn’t hear anything for the longest time, despite kids still walking around and it being relatively early in the evening. I kept wondering why I’d hear voices outside my door instead of the doorbell, though. Were people just knocking softly?
Nope! My doorbell’s out. Friggin’ eh. Of all the days to realize my doorbell’s out, today? Today???
I think I had four families total. I put a note up to knock after the fourth, but by then, it was over.
Does anyone want some candy? I keep slowly making a dent in it, but I really
shouldn’t annihilate the whole bowl, either.

Total of 9 kids here, all imports. Never seen any of ‘em before. 21st century trick or treating: Ride around in the van looking for houses with the porch light on, trick or treat, ride to the next one. By 8 p.m. their little bags were nowhere near full.

none here too, but not many kids near me

You had to have seen this, (ending price-beginning price)+coupon rate/beginning price.

At least around me a lot of the shopping centers that are varying degrees of upscale strip mall to “new urbanism” style fake downtown do trick or treating where parents bring the kids around to each store to get candy. I encountered one such event when I went to the gym last Sunday--I could barely find a parking space-- and another one on Tuesday when I hit up a quick stop at Kohl’s & Target. I’m sure these are reducing the number of kids going around neighborhoods.

Nope. It was on the 29th.

I haven’t been trick or treating long enough to not know what’s going on around these parts, but that sounds about right.

By rate, I meant payment! I was afraid I was gonna get something mildly wrong writing that out. Subtracting .1 wouldn’t do much!
